Schedule an email
Last reviewed
Send once at a later time or on a repeating schedule, and what is checked again before every scheduled send.
Instead of sending at once, an email can be scheduled from New campaign → Schedule for later: once at a date and time, or on a repeating schedule for a newsletter, a monthly statement reminder or a yearly greeting.
When it goes
- Once, at a date and time.
- Daily, weekly on the days you choose, monthly on a day of the month or on its last day, or yearly — every period or every few periods (every 2 weeks, every 3 months).
- At a time of day in the time zone you choose, so a team in one country can schedule for customers in another.
- Until you stop it, until a date, or for a set number of sends.
Checked again before every send
A schedule stores the email and its audience, not a frozen list of addresses. Before each send:
- The audience is worked out again, so a lead who joined it since the last send is included and one who left it is not.
- Anyone who has unsubscribed by then is skipped, however long ago the schedule was set up.
- The deliverability check runs again, and an email that no longer passes it is not sent.
- Your company's daily send limit still applies.
If a scheduled send fails, the person who scheduled it is notified so it can be fixed. Every send that does go out appears under Campaigns like any other — the Scheduled section lists every schedule, its next sends and how each run went, with a result per recipient.
A schedule keeps sending until it ends. Look over repeating emails now and then, and stop any whose offer or wording no longer applies.
